School has started a week ago, Adam is now in morning session while Adli in afternoon session. My morning routine has changed by waking up much earlier than last year, to make sure Adam wakes up on time so that tak kelam kabut (mcm advert radio 'Sri Alam" at Era.fm), to prepare breakfast for him (breakfast is very important for kids. Adults suka hati nak breakfast ke tak nak!) and send him to school on time (hubby and I take turn in sending him to school every morning coz he works long hour).
I took a day-off on their 1st day of school, just to make sure everything goes well. As I was in the school, my boss called requesting me to finish the year-end report. "Ina, I forgot that you're on leave. Can you come to the office for awhile, just to prepare the report as we are late in sending it to the States." To me, the report can always be sent the next day because we have informed them Malaysia having a long holiday and with the time difference, I'm sure they won't noticed. Do I have a choice? Heck no! So I went to the office after sending Adli to school. I told him that I couldnt stay till recess and he was okay with that but I felt guilty as I stayed for Adam but had to go when comes to him.
On the 2nd day, I've arranged transportation for them. However, there was a miscommunication on which gate Adam should wait for the school van, which got me a little emotional. It was obviously my fault for not getting the right info. So Sorry dear. On that day, Adam finishes school at 1230pm. He waited at Gate B but the van waited at Gate C. Around 130pm, while I was in the office, he called my mobile from the school's public phone, telling me that he was still at school and the van didnt come (luckily he remembers my mobile #). I can hear his shaking plus in tears voice, at which I started in tears too. That's how emotional I can get. As we were talking, the line went dead as he only had 50 cents in hand. Panic rushed in, however I managed to tell him to wait at the canteen. I called the school to look for him, then I called the van driver to pick him up. Alhamdulillah, he got home safe and sound.
